DIVERSITY MEETS RESPONSIBILITY

In southern India, Kaniska Garments is based in Tirupur, an important centre of the Indian textile and apparel industry. The company was founded in 1988 by V. Senthil Kumar and, according to our information, produces around 1.5 million pieces per year, including for Marc O’Polo.
In 2024, together with Kaniska Garments, we prepared four female employees for tasks involving management responsibility as part of a supervisor training programme. Developed jointly with the NGO SAVE, the training aims to strengthen women’s participation in the textile supply chain and support their professional development opportunities.
According to its own information, Kaniska uses the guidelines and tools of the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero Programme for chemical and wastewater management. The site’s environmental performance is recorded and assessed annually using the Higg Facility Environmental Module (Higg FEM). The Higg FEM considers energy, water, waste, wastewater, air emissions and chemical management, among other areas.
