Becri is located in Barcelos in northern Portugal, around 30 minutes from Porto Airport. Since it was founded in 1983 by António José Costa, who worked as a tailor and volunteered with the fire service, the company has continued to develop.
Today, according to its own information, Becri produces around 3.6 million pieces a year, including for Marc O’Polo. According to the company, the development of production processes and employees’ working conditions are important parts of its business development.
According to its own information, Becri records and evaluates the site’s environmental performance annually using the Higg Facility Environmental Module (Higg FEM). The standardised assessment tool considers energy and water use, waste, wastewater, air emissions and chemical management, among other areas. The results can help identify areas for action and plan further measures.
