OUR STRATEGY
To continue on our journey to sustainability, we have defined 10 pathways. Each pathway reflects a specific area for which we have formulated relevant action steps and targets.

We can look back on many years during which the definition of sustainability in the fashion industry has developed – and so have we. We have gathered experience, made discoveries and learnt. Time and time again, we find the right innovations for our vision of sustainability.

We have defined binding measures for our journey to sustainability and set ourselves ambitious goals which we will implement by 2023. Strategic partnerships have a crucial role to play in this.

Movement and openness are essential parts of any journey. However, there is more to a journey than just setting out. Completing a journey means being open to new opportunities, being willing to learn and embracing flexibility. Ever since our company was founded, we have been open to innovation – especially in the field of sustainability. Sustainability is an essential part of our heritage and even more important for our future.
1967 ESTABLISHED WITH THE AIM OF USING NATURAL MATERIALS.
1970s ‘ONLY NATURE’S MATERIALS’ CAMPAIGN.
1970s BRAND PHILOSOPHY: FOLLOW YOUR NATURE.
1980s ‘NO FUTURE WITHOUT NATURE’ CAMPAIGN.
1980s LAUNCH OF THE RAW COLLECTION.
2005–2006 NO-FUR POLICY INTRODUCED. ORGANIC COTTON USED FOR THE FIRST TIME.
2005–2008 SUSTAINABILITY REPORT PUBLISHED FOR THE FIRST TIME. MEMBERSHIP OF AMFORI BSCI.
2016 RECYCLED FIBRES USED FOR THE FIRST TIME.
2020 RWS, GOTS AND OCS CERTIFICATION. JOINED LWG. PARTNERSHIP WITH THE FWF.
