1. Refresh first
Often, it’s enough to simply air out your cashmere. The fibre is naturally self-cleaning – frequent washing isn’t necessary and can put unnecessary stress on it.
2. Clean gently
Turn your cashmere inside out and wash with a special wool or cashmere detergent – this protects the fibres and preserves their natural softness.
3. Gentle wash
Use a wool cycle at low temperature or wash gently in lukewarm water. Keep the spin low and avoid fabric softener – cashmere prefers a natural approach.
4. Dry with care
Never wring! Gently press out excess water and dry the garment flat on a towel – away from direct heat and sunlight.
5. Keep its shape
While drying, carefully reshape without pulling – this keeps the fibre structure stable and lets the piece sit perfectly again.
6. Care sustainably
Remove natural pilling gently with a special cashmere comb – the surface stays smooth and looks as good as new.
