Marc O'Polo was founded in Stockholm in 1967 by Swedes Rolf Lind and Göte Huss and American Jerry O. Sheets. They named the company after a legendary Venetian explorer: Marco Polo. A hand-woven patchwork shirt made from Indian cotton was the first item in the three founders' collection. The motif of the first advertising campaign – a strawberry – caused an international sensation. Just one year later, the company made the leap into the German market. You can find out more about this here.
