JÁNOS MIZSEI BRINGS INNOVATION TO THE PLATE

In our portrait series, we introduce people who are genuine experts in their field and inspire us with their vision.

First off, let’s meet János Mizsei – called Jani. He combines fine dining with European cool. His style: new, sustainable and Scandi-inspired. He learned his craft with 2-star chef Daniel Berlin in Sweden. In 2022, he was awarded the title of Hungary's most innovative young chef by the Michelin Guide.

At present, he cooks at the MÁK in Budapest – “one of the most exciting places in town“, according to the New York Times – where he brings innovation to the plate.
He has created a 3-course menu for Marc O’Polo HOME, inspired by the colours of the Spring/Summer 2023 season. All the ingredients come from sustainable farming. If you want to try them out yourself, you’ll find the recipes on the @marcopolo Instagram account.
