Sustainability
Sustainability is deeply rooted in the Marc O'Polo DNA. We have been publishing regular sustainability reports since 2008.
Our strategy with ten pathways defines clear goals, including offering only sustainable products by 2023.

Marc O'Polo uses natural fibers from controlled organic farming in its collections.
Many of our products with organically sourced fibers are certified according to the well-known textile standards Organic Content Standard (OCS) or Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS). We also offer Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) certified products.
All certified products are marked with the respective seal on the care label and on the product page in the Marc O'Polo online store.

When selecting materials, we make sure that they are better than conventional variants and have less impact on people, animals and nature.

Marc O’Polo has its products produced both in the EU and in third countries, with the majority of our suppliers based in China, India and Turkey.
The respective country of origin is labelled on the care label of the product. We have been working closely with most of our suppliers for many years.

An essential part of the Marc O’Polo sustainability strategy is the manufacture of our products under humane working conditions.
Marc O’Polo has been a member of the Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) since 2020. In the scope of an annual audit performed by the foundation – known as the Brand Performance Check – the purchasing practices of Marc O’Polo as well as other aspects of the company are evaluated and published.
Marc O’Polo has also been a member of amfori – trade with purpose since 2009. As a part of this, binding social standards were defined. To monitor compliance with the amfori BSCI Code of Conduct and to develop possible improvements with suppliers in the scope of FWF membership, audits are conducted in the factories producing the products (primarily in high-risk countries). Furthermore, the FWF offers training programmes in the factories and a complaints mechanism for the workers.

Most of the cotton used by Marc O'Polo comes from controlled organic cultivation.
The care label and the respective product page provide information on whether a Marc O'Polo product is certified according to the OCS (Organic Content Standard) or the GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard).

The down and feathers used by Marc O'Polo are either certified according to the Responsible Down Standard (RDS) or come from certified, recycled sources as an alternative to newly obtained down and feathers.
Marc O'Polo products with recycled down and feathers are certified according to the Recycled Claim Standard (RCS).

Marc O'Polo, a member of the Leather Working Group (LWG), mainly uses leather from LWG-certified tanneries. Products with this leather are labeled accordingly.

Cupro is mainly used by Marc O' Polo in the womens selection, depending on the collection. The production of the fiber is now very transparent, especially as there is only one manufacturer in Japan.
The starting point for Cupro is recycled cotton linters, which are a by-product of cotton oil production. The chemicals used to produce the fiber are extracted and completely reused in closed-loop systems.

Marc O'Polo relies on over 50 years of experience with natural materials and thus shapes our brand culture.
To date, we do not offer any products labeled as vegan, but we do offer accessories such as bags and belts made from vegetable-tanned leather.
We are open to material innovations and test them for quality, sustainability and compatibility with our philosophy.

Marc O'Polo is increasingly using certified paper and cardboard as well as recyclable films as packaging materials. In addition, we are currently examining various solutions.
A major challenge here is taking into account the various requirements in the extensive supply chain and protecting the product during transportation.

Marc O'Polo is pursuing the goal of largely avoiding air freight. Even today, the proportion of sea freight far outweighs the proportion of air freight, which is currently only chosen in exceptional cases. By avoiding air freight, emissions can be further reduced.

Marc O'Polo labels products of the Casual and DENIM brands as sustainable if:
essential fibers in the clothing consist of at least 80% sustainable material
in shoes, at least one material subject to labeling is at least 80% sustainable
at least 80% of the main material in accessories is sustainable

Orange Fiber is a revolutionary cellulose fibre made from wood and waste products from citrus juice production (keyword: waste management), which is obtained from by-products of citrus juice production in Sicily, among other places, and reduces the need for new raw materials. Our Orange Fiber products are available in selected Marc O'Polo stores and in our online shop.

At Marc O'Polo, we only use 100% certified mulesing-free or certified recycled sheep's wool. Compliance with our standards is confirmed by independent certifications such as the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) and the Recycled Claim Standard (RCS). Returns and complaints
You can return unworn items to us free of charge within 30 days of receiving the goods. All you have to do is open the returns portal and log in with your order number and e-mail address:
Carry out the following steps there to register the return:
Select the items you wish to return and choose a return reason.
Select your preferred return method: generate the QR code and show it when you hand in the parcel at the drop-off point/post office OR print out the return label, attach it to the parcel and then take it to the drop-off point/post office.
Hand in the return and don't forget to ask for the proof of posting - done!
It is best to return items that you have purchased in a Marc O'Polo shop there.

If you have paid for the goods by credit card, we will credit the relevant amount to your credit card account.
At Marc O'Polo, quality, impeccable workmanship and attention to detail are paramount. Although our standards are generally high, occasionally items may not meet them. In such cases, we apologize and offer you the opportunity to make a complaint.
Simply contact our customer service at service@marc-o-polo.com, quote your order number and briefly describe the defect.
For items from Marc O'Polo stores, you have the option of making a complaint in all stationary stores. Use our store finder to find your nearest Marc O'Polo store.
As soon as your return has been received by our Customer Service, we will refund the full amount to your bank account.
If you did not include your banking details (IBAN, Bic, Credit Institution and Name) with the returned goods, you can simply send them to us via E-Mail.
A return, complaint or exchange of goods from the Marc O'Polo online shop is unfortunately due to technical reasons not possible in local retail shops .
The return or complaint process for goods purchased from the Marc O'Polo online shop is free of charge.

An automatic exchange of an item is not possible at the moment. If you would like an item you have received in a different version, you would have to order it again.

Generally, a return can take up to 20 work days to process.
As soon as we have received the return, you will be informed via email.

Yes, under the condition that the hygiene inserts and labels have not been removed.
However, it is recommended that you always try on swimwear over your own underwear.
Unisex eau de parfum, room fragrance and hand care products can only be returned unopened.

The available payment methods vary depending on the country. You can find the specific payment options for your country at the bottom left of our online store.
In future, we will no longer be sending invoices in paper form for the sake of the environment. This implies that you will only receive invoices via e-mail. We will send it to the e-mail address you used to place your order.
To make sure that you receive the invoice, we kindly ask that you enter the e-mail address service@marc-o-polo.com in your address book and add it to your contact list.
You can also find the invoice in your customer account. Simply log into your account in the MARC O'POLO online shop and click on “view order” in the orders section in order to access the invoice.

Shipping & Delivery
When ordering, enter your desired shipping address under "shipping address". For a different billing address, use the "different billing address" step. Choose between saved addresses or add a new one.
If you are unable to complete your order because the address given is unknown, our customer service is available to help you.
You will receive an e-mail with the good news that your parcel is on its way, including the tracking number. This number allows you to check the delivery status at any time on the website of the shipping service provider.
You can also check the status of your order in your customer account. Log in to the online store, go to "Orders" and click on "Track shipment". There you will find all relevant information as soon as the parcel has been handed over to the shipping service provider.
It is very important to us that you receive your order on time and undamaged. For international deliveries, we have had the best experiences with DHL Worldwide Package. Typically, we dispatch your order within 2-5 business days (as long as your order is received by 12:00, from Monday to Friday).

The costs are independent of the total value of the order and the method of payment. Returning the entire package ensures a full reimbursement of the delivery charges. Regrettably, partial returns do not qualify for the same reimbursement.
Please report incorrectly delivered, defective or soiled items in the returns portal with a complaint as the reason for return. Please note that there is no automatic exchange. You must order the item again.
In the case of damaged/incomplete deliveries: Please take photos as proof and check the delivery for completeness. If items are missing from your order, please contact our customer service.
For unordered deliveries: Please do not accept the parcel. If already accepted, please return it with a note in the package.
Normally, your order should be delivered to the address you have given within 2-5 work days. If you are still waiting for your package five work days after confirmation of your order, please first check the following:
The delivery status, using the tracking number that was sent to you via email.
Whether the address you gave was correct.
Whether a neighbor has accepted the package on your behalf.
Whether the package is waiting for you at your nearest post office.
If you have done all of the above, and still don't know where your parcel is, please contact our customer service.
Please note that you can only change the delivery address before placing your order.
Unfortunately, as soon as you have clicked the "Order Now" button during the ordering process, we can no longer change the delivery address.

Marc O'Polo does not currently offer a returns or complaints collection service.
If required, you can request this directly from the shipping service provider.

Has the voucher been transferred correctly? (Pay attention to upper and lower case, no spaces).
Has the voucher code been entered in the correct field? There are 2 fields. One for gift cards (12-digit and only available for purchase), one for voucher codes.
Are the voucher conditions from the asterisk text fulfilled? Please check the minimum order value and all other conditions.
Have you logged in with the correct customer account? Vouchers may be linked to a specific email address.
Has the minimum amount in the shopping basket of 29,90€ been reached? If not, an order cannot be sent.
Has the voucher already been used once? Some vouchers can only be used once.
Has another voucher already been used? Vouchers cannot be combined with each other.
ATTENTION: If the voucher still does not work after fulfilling the above points, log out and log back in and enter the code again.

You can usually redeem our vouchers both online and in our stores. Please note, however, that gift vouchers can only be redeemed where they were purchased.

The voucher conditions in the asterisk text and the minimum invoice amount of €29.90 must be observed.
The voucher is credited to the entire order.
In case of a full return, a refund of the voucher value is not possible.
In case of returns of individual items, the voucher will be credited to the remaining items.
Please note: If the voucher value exceeds the amount of the remaining order, the voucher will expire.
In the event of a full return, only the amount actually paid will be refunded.
The value of the voucher expires.

General information and news
Marc O'Polo was founded in Stockholm in 1967 by Swedes Rolf Lind and Göte Huss and American Jerry O. Sheets. They named the company after a legendary Venetian explorer: Marco Polo. A hand-woven patchwork shirt made from Indian cotton was the first item in the three founders' collection. The motif of the first advertising campaign – a strawberry – caused an international sensation. Just one year later, the company made the leap into the German market. Marc O'Polo uses an NPS (Net Promoter Score) to measure customer satisfaction. Customers receive an automated email one week after contacting customer service. In addition to rating us on a scale of 1 to 10, they also have the option of leaving a short comment. The NPS data is used exclusively internally to continuously improve the quality of our service. In accordance with applicable data protection guidelines, all data is automatically deleted after 24 months.
Marc O’Polo has been the official fashion partner of the DFB since June 1, 2025. The women's and men's national teams, as well as the U21 national team will travel from now on in an exclusively designed Travel Collection by Marc O`Polo. All teams will be seen wearing iconic bomber jackets with the DFB logo on the sleeve, flowing pants made of stretch materials, and casual knit shirts that ensure maximum comfort.
